Podgorica, Montenegro (7 October 2019) – On behalf of the Government and in his own name, Prime Minister Duško Marković congratulated the Jewish Community in Montenegro on the reconciliation day - Yom Kippur, noting that the holidays remind us to return from the maelstrom of everyday life to the basic values of humanity - family and friends, to pause, reconsider our actions and encouraged by the primordial messages of the great holiday, in the spirit of forgiveness and friendship, to continue contributing to a better and more prosperous community through our future actions.
"Therefore, Yom Kippur – a day of reconciliation, is an opportunity to remind ourselves of the rich tradition of the multiethnic and multireligious harmony of Montenegro, to which the Jewish community makes a significant contribution. Precisely on the basis of these universal values, which have become internationally recognised, we continue to build Montenegro as a member of NATO and in the near future an EU member," Prime Minister Duško Marković said in his congratulatory letter to President of the Jewish Community in Montenegro Đorđe Raičević.
