Minister Damjanović takes part in ADRIA SPACE Conference in Zagreb

At the invitation of the President of the Adriatic Aerospace Association, Prof. Slobodan Danko Bosanac, Minister of Science Dr. Sanja Damjanović took part in the Adria Space Conference in Zagreb, organised by this association in cooperation with the Ruđer Bošković Institute and the University of Zadar, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia.

The conference aims to promote and strengthen regional cooperation in research and development activities in the field of space science and technologies, with the intention to encourage the development of plans for cooperation in the fields of satellite technology, rocket propulsion and rocket engineering. The event brought together prominent speakers from the countries of the European Union, South East Europe, and Israel, including high-level representatives of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and leading international experts, as well as representatives of the scientific community and technological companies.

After opening speeches, Minister Damjanović gave a presentation on the project of the South East European International Institute for Sustainable Technologies (SEEIIST), particularly stressing the joint efforts in the process of establishing this large-scale research infrastructure underpinned by state-of-the-art technologies. Given the theme and importance of the conference, the minister particularly emphasised the importance of the project in the context of regional cooperation, the development of cutting-edge technologies and the coordination of development activities. In addition, she drew attention to the potential for space sector development plans in terms of creating favourable conditions for space research on Earth, again in relation to the SEEIIST project.

After the conference, minister Damjanović visited the Ruđer Bošković Institute to become more familiar with the infrastructure of this significant scientific institution in the field of natural and biomedical sciences, as well as in marine and environmental research.
