Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin issued a decision today authorising the extradition of Saša Sinđelić to the Republic of Croatia for the purpose of executing a prison sentence for serious crimes committed in that country.
Minister Pažin made the decision to extradite Sinđelić to the Republic of Croatia in accordance with national laws, respecting the bilateral extradition treaty with the Republic of Croatia and international standards in the field of extradition, as well as respecting the final decision of the competent court in Montenegro on the fulfillment of the conditions for extradition. Previously, the competent state authorities had also reached a final decision rejecting Sinđelić's asylum application, since the appeal proceedings in this case were finalised.
The Justice Minister's decision confirms Montenegro's determination to consistently and responsibly fulfill its international commitments, to be a reliable partner in the international fight against crime and not to allow any perpetrator of serious crime to take refuge in its territory.
