Prime Minister Duško Marković stated that we need to understand that education does not begin before the child starts school and that it is difficult if not impossible to make up for what was passed in the first years of life.
"Montenegro has become irreversibly part of the modern and progressive world. In order to survive in the global competition, as a society, we need to create conditions in order to our future generations in no way leg behind their peers in most developed societies. And least of all in its educational capacity," stated Prime Minister Marković opening conference "Investing in the early ages – Conference on fiscal and administrative imperatives for Early Childhood Development".
For the future of our society, as he highlighted, it is extraordinarily important that we understand the necessity of multiple investments in early child development as a responsible society that recognises the challenges of times to come, as individuals and as families who have an obligation to prepare in the best way their children to tackle these challenges.
"Exactly, the youngest category of our population will feel to a largest extent the benefits of our work, particularly economic growth and the overall stability of the Montenegro’s society. We have no dilemma that by investing in their first steps we provide long - term and sustainable development of the society, established on a sound basis," the Prime Minister noted at the conference, organised by UNICEF and the UDG.
The Prime Minister emphasised that in the next period we will continue to support actively and implement policies towards achieving equality, inclusion and protection of the most vulnerable with a special focus on establishing a system of monitoring the implementation of the adopted solutions.
Prime Minister Marković assessed the relationship between the Government and the UNICEF as quality and partnership and highlighted that it led to the significant changes in society in the area of social policy and child protection: "That is confirmed by a number of joint projects that resulted in implementation of reforms in the field of all - round protection of children and youth and that remains high on the agenda priorities of the Government of Montenegro".
