Negotiating Group Meeting: Montenegro closer to full alignment with acquis

Montenegro is constantly approaching to the adoption of legislation with aim to bring its legislation fully in line with the acquis. The 21st meeting of the Negotiating Group, chaired by Chief Negotiator Aleksandar Drljevic, was held today at the European Integration Office.
Drljević briefed members of the Negotiating Group on evaluations from the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security, held this week in Podgorica, during which representatives ofMontenegrin institutions discussed with the EC counterparts progress and further commitments in the area of the rule of law. Chief Negotiator emphasised that the assessment in the forthcoming EC Report on Montenegro will be of particular importance for further progress in this area and in this context pointed to the need to continue the quality and efficient fulfillment of the obligations of Chapters 23 and 24.
The meeting noted progress in adopting legislative acts, bringing Montenegro closer to full compliance with European regulations and standards.
