Press release: Sturanovic meets Ben Ari

Prime Minister Zeljko Sturanovic met in Podgorica today with Israeli Ambassador in Belgrade Mrs Jaffa Ben-Ari.

Having thanked the Prime Minister for the kind reception, Mrs Ben-Ari expressed a keen interest of the Israeli side in continuing and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries. By the same token, she pointed out that Israeli business people were willing to participate in different projects involving the existing and developing new assets in Montenegro.

Prime Minister Sturanovic said that relations between the two countries were good, although opportunities for bilateral cooperation were still not fully exploited, above all in the field of economy.

In that respect, it was agreed that following the restoration of Montenegros statehood, conditions were met for strengthening overall bilateral relations and interest was expressed for further reinforcement of political dialogue, which would result in concrete forms of cooperation.

Both sides voiced readiness to arrange a meeting between the two countries business people, in order to intensify and put into practice agreements on specific projects in agriculture, tourism, environmental protection, transport and new investment opportunities, including a new air service, which would by all means stimulate the aforementioned activities.

Prime Minister Sturanovic used the opportunity to once again thank the state of Israel for its prompt recognition of Montenegros sovereignty and independence and establishment of diplomatic relations.
