Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović participated in the 10th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Western Balkan Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA) at ministerial level in Skopje. On that occasion, Chairman of the 2019 Steering Committee Damjan Mancevski, Minister of Information Society and Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia, handed over the chairmanship of ReSPA to Minister Pribilović.
Taking over the 2020 Chairmanship, Minister Pribilović thanked ReSPA for its support and exceptional cooperation since the establishment of the Ministry of Public Administration.
"ReSPA Chairmanship for Montenegro is a great challenge and an even greater commitment, as we take over the chairmanship from North Macedonia, which has made significant progress in the area of public administration reform over the past year. We are strongly committed to following this example and taking advantage of the opportunities for cooperation with ReSPA to improve public administration, so the focus of our activities in the coming period will be on providing services, because that is what citizens feel most from our reform activities," Pribilović said.
The 10th meeting of the Steering Committee was held to summarise major achievements in the process of improving public administration in the Western Balkans and further initiatives to improve regional cooperation, as well as new models of working together under the ReSPA programme, with the support of the European Commission.
The meeting was attended by ministers and senior officials in charge of public administration from ReSPA member states, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia, as well as representatives of the European Commission and Kosovo.
Following the meeting, the two-day Ministerial Conference on Digital Transformation: Reinventing Public Administration for Digital Age began, which brought together senior representatives of Western Balkan public administration institutions responsible for implementing administrative reforms, public finance management and European integration, as well as representatives of the European Commission, OECD/SIGMA, regional and international organisations and other partners. The experience of digital transformation of public administration will be discussed at the conference.
