PM Marković, US Ambassador and Director of KCCG open renovated Intensive Care Unit of Institute for Children's Diseases: We never invested in health this much

Last night, the Government allocated EUR 281 million to the health budget set for 2020, the largest allocation for this area in Montenegro’s history, Prime Minister Duško Marković stated.
"The Government strongly supports strengthening of our health system in every sense. Exactly yesterday, at the Cabinet session we established a new budget, with EUR 281 million allocated for health. It is the largest health budget ever in Montenegro. It has been increased by EUR 50 million over the previous year and by a total of EUR 85 million it is increased over the last three years, since the beginning of the term of this Government. This is a confirmation that the Ministry of Health, the Government and the Clinical Centre together will, as a carrier of the Montenegro’s health potential in the coming period, do everything to provide our citizens with the highest quality health service. Today, I am specially looking forward to providing this level, the European level of health care service, in the new unit for our youngest population," the Prime Minister stated after he, together with the United Stated Ambassador to Montenegro Judy Rising Reinke and Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro Jevto Eraković officially opened the renovated Intensive Care Unit of the Clinic for Children's Diseases of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro (KCCG).
The Prime Minister emphasised that he gladly responded to the invitation of the Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, because the Clinical Centre as the most significant health institution in Montenegro, sets an example and takes the concrete steps to keep the health system at the level that our country and our citizens need.
The Government, the United States Embassy in Montenegro and the Ministry of Sports and Youth provided more than EUR 600.000 for the renovation of the Intensive Care Unit.
The director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro emphasized that with the support of the Government and the Ministry of Science a modern scanner for the treatment of children will be installed soon and on the ophthalmology, one of the most modern apparatus for detecting infant vision problems, followed by the reconstruction of the operating block.
At the opening of the renovated Intensive Care Unit, Ambassador Rising Reinke said that it represents the symbol of what the United States and Montenegro can do together, while they continue to empower ties between the two nations.
