Minister of Economy of Montenegro Dragica Sekulić and Minister for Energy and Water Management of Malta Joe Mizzi commissioned the 46 MW "Možura" Wind Farm, worth EUR 90 million in the afternoon and noted that this act is evidence of good cooperation between the two countries and indicates even closer cooperation.

"The fact that the majority state - owned energy company, from an EU member state recognised the potential of this project, while assessing Montenegro as an attractive and reliable investment destination, is the best confirmation of the environment that we have created. When traditionally cautious investors come to Montenegro, a second promotion is hardly needed. The similarity in size of our economies, openness to foreign investment and partnerships are the best guarantee that this project can contribute to the necessary transfer of knowledge and experience," Minister of Economy stated at the ceremony.

Her Maltese counterpart stated that five years ago his Government recognised the sector of energy as one of the key pillars of his country's economy and noted that the first successful project by a state – own electricity company, Malta, in continental Europe, had given the Government the right and that it can set an example for other EU member states.

"The construction of this megaproject lasted three years. The project extends to 8.5 km of newly constructed roads. The challenges of constructing and commissioning of the 23 wind turbines were numerous, but we tackled them. This project brought us together, bringing our countries, which are similar in population and GDP growth, closer and the efforts of the governments of Malta and Montenegro to be successful," Minister Mizzi stressed.

The two officials emphasised the particular significance of the fact, it is green, i.e. the so - called pure energy. Montenegro’s Minister stressed the Možura is a confirmation of that further development towards green energy is possible and in the fact the most likely.

"In days when Montenegro’s energy confirms for the second time in the same year that it is capable of satisfying all its consumption by producing energy without emissions of the greenhouse gasses, the Možura Wind Farm gives us additional optimism. For Montenegro’s energy and economy in general, it is particularly important that, after years of stagnation the project has been accelerated and completed within a very short time with the inclusion of the Maltese Enmalta," the Minister of Economy of Montenegro stated.

Minister Sekulić whished investors successful work and a good wind.

"And please, protect and maintain well these 23 wind farms which you will hand over to the Montenegro’s people, after the expiry of the lease period," Minister Sekulić pointed out.
