Prime Minister Duško Marković congratulated the leadership and citizens of Tivat on the upcoming Municipality Day and said that they can be proud of the achieved results and development perspectives.
Tivat, as Prime Minister Marković said at a meeting with President of the Municipality Siniša Kusovac and President of the Municipal Assembly Ivan Novosel, has a development expansion above Montenegrin standards, and praised investments in social infrastructure construction.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the valorisation of the airports, and the both sides agreed that granting the concession would bring multiple benefits to both the municipalities and residents of Tivat and Podgorica, as well as to the entire state.
Improving road infrastructure in Tivat, according to Kusovac, is a priority for local self-government, and in that context emphasised the construction of 4.2 km long boulevard from the airport to the city, worth EUR 10 million. He also pointed to investments in water supply and sewerage systems, and emphasised the need for reconstruction and improvement of pre-school and school facilities in the municipality. The construction of a sports hall is also planned, and it is expected that the newly built day care center for children with disabilities will begin its work soon.
The Prime Minister also recalled the Government's results in the area of economic policy - ensuring the stability of public finances, economic growth at a rate of almost five percent, creating about 30,000 new jobs and reducing unemployment by eight percent.
