Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović concluded today his participation in the 40th UNESCO General Conference. Following yesterday's address at the Plenary Session, Minister Bogdanović participated today in the Forum of Ministers of Culture, which gathered ministers of culture from over a hundred UNESCO countries.
The Ministerial Forum discussed national cultural policies. In this context, the topics related to the synthesis of culture and economy, namely the creation of conditions for stimulating the creative industries and stimulating better placement of their products in national, regional and global markets, were particularly emphasised.
Minister Bogdanović stressed that culture should no longer be viewed as a hermetically sealed system.
I believe that any system, including the system of culture, relies on the concrete results and concrete benefits that citizens are achieving, particularly those who are involved in the system. I am pretty much sure that they are able to experience this. The Government of Montenegro has ranked in the top priorities the creative industries and creativities, having in mind that we would like to valorise our cultural assets, our cultural heritage in order to make creative hubs, which will be able to employ the people and reduce the level of poverty, the Minister noted.
On the sidelines of today's Forum, Minister Bogdanović met with representatives of numerous governments and international organisations.
