PM Marković: In term of this Government over 2,300 employees, pensioners and displaced resolve or are underway resolving their housing issue
Prime Minister Duško Marković stated today in the Assembly that the Government has allocated almost EUR 11 million in budgetary funds, since the beginning of its term, with the aim of supporting housing policy and that in the term of this Government, 459 employees have been resolved or are in the process of resolving housing issues in education, 167 in health, 992 in security institutions, 223 in the Armed Forces, 271 retired and 214 displaced persons.
The Prime Minister stated that he was strongly convinced that trough gradually increasing of the living standard, certain occupations we can made more attractive and with reliefs in resolving housing issues, over time, it will become increasingly competitive for all young people that will decide to link their professional and family future precisely to their country- to Montenegro.
"We want to create a programme that would offer good students, successful young professionals and candidates for certain required jobs, housing at the beginning of their career with the opportunity of a favourable permanent solution to the housing issue after a number of years in service and not only in Podgorica, of course but all over Montenegro.
This should be a completely new brand that have not any connection to the past funds and particular solutions. I believe that in the coming year we could have some first, concrete results," Prime Minister Duško Marković stated answering the question of the MP Andrija Popović from the Social Democrats and Liberal Party, on whether the Government is satisfied with the effects of current policy in the area of resolving housing issues of the employees in the public sector and whether definition of new models that would boost this area has been analysed.
Speaking about the housing of officials, the Prime Minister noted that there is a clear legislative framework in Montenegro that provides the country, as an employer to address the housing needs of all employees in the public sector, weather officers or officials.
"However, even if every decision was based on regulation, it cannot be said that the framework worked flawlessly. It is precisely because this Government implements a responsible and consistent housing policy, we are closely monitoring the effects of the current model and looking for room for improvement," the Prime Minister stated.
First of all, the established model of addressing housing needs in the public administration has been observed to lacks stronger control elements, which opens the possibility for certain abuses concerning precisely the actions of end - users. Such deviations can lead to a ridiculing of the human and correct intention of the Government who stays behind this model. I informed about the activities undertaken in this regard in response to the MP Lekić. In the end, I, as well as the general public, look forward with impatience to this House and to you Members of the Parliament, expect proposals and measures to improve housing policy as the backbone of an even better future standard of employees," Prime Minister Duško Marković pointed out.
