PM Marković meets with leadership of Kotor: Government fully supports better quality of life for citizens

Podgorica, Montenegro (21 November 2019) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković congratulated the citizens of Kotor and local leadership on Municipality Day and emphasised that they will have full support of the Government in their efforts to boost quality of life of citizens and tourist offer of the city.

At the meeting with the President of the Municipality Željko Aprcović and President of the Municipal Assembly Jovo Suđić, the Prime Minister assessed numerous activities undertaken after the change of local authorities as positive and praised the pro-activeness of the Kotor leadership.

The meeting, which was held yesterday afternoon, Prime Minister Marković and leadership of Kotor agreed that the construction of the cable car from Kotor to Njeguši, for which a tender is planned by the end of the year, will add additional quality and a boost to the tourism development.

The Municipality President stressed that Municipality of Kotor is working intensively to address issues of traffic jams that are burdening the city and that they are committed to the works on the pool for which a usable permit is expected in March next year. The decision on the takeover of the water polo Club Primorac by the Municipality, was particularly praised.

One of the priorities for the local authority is to tackle the challenge of constructing a sports hall and its completion within a year and a half. President of the Municipality Aprcović also assessed the investments of the Municipality in the culture as very significant and in that regard praised the reconstruction of the Cultural Centre.
