Salzburg: Prime Minister Zeljko Sturanovic meets Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer

Montenegrin Prime Minister Zeljko Sturanovic met with Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer for talks today in Salzburg. During the talks reference was made to bilateral relations between Montenegro and Austria and opportunities for their further development were considered.

Prime Minister Sturanovic informed his host of the ongoing process of European integration in Montenegro in terms of adopting and implementing European standards and values, as well as of the main parameters of Montenegros economic development. By the same token, he welcomed the inflow of foreign direct investment into Montenegro and, in particular, the share of Austrian capital in the overall investment structure. The Prime Minister thanked Austria for its continued support to Montenegros development processes and, in particular, for its help in promoting Montenegro, as the worlds youngest state, in the international community. He invited Chancellor Gusenbauer to pay an official visit to Montenegro.

Having emphasized Austrias interest in seeing progress in the entire region, Mr Gusenbauer expressed his satisfaction with the meeting. In addition, Chancellor Gusenbauer confirmed Austrias readiness to continue providing support to Montenegro and commended the reception given to Austrian companies in Montenegro, noting that this developed a positive image for both countries. He expressed satisfaction with all-round political and economic relations between the two countries and confirmed the readiness to intensify and promote those relations.
