PM Marković meets with leadership of Bar: Capital projects provide more dynamic development of city
Podgorica, Montenegro (22 November 2019) -- The stabilization of public finances and focus on the capital projects will provide conditions for dynamic development of Bar, better tourist offer and better quality of life of citizens, Prime Minister Duško Marković stated at the meeting with President of the Municipality of Bar Dušan Raičević and Vice Presidents Tanja Spičanović and Radomir Novaković.
Congratulating the citizens and local leadership on the Municipality Day, the Prime Minister praised results of the local authorities and announced the continued support of the Government in the implementation of all projects that will make Bar more attractive to tourists, investors and business people.
The Mayor and the Vice Mayors thanked Prime Minister Marković and the Government for their support and stated that they are working committed to modernise the local authority and boost its efficiency. The President of the Municipality emphasised that local public finances are stabilising, the source revenues are growing and the Budget for the next year will be about EUR 23 million, which is about 10 % higher than the previous year.
As a priority, the issue of water supply was highlighted and the activities on finalisation of this project were outlined. The meeting also discussed the need to strengthen the traffic infrastructure and in that regard it was announced that over 20 projects, whose implementation is expected in the coming years, are in the final phase of production.
Representatives of the Municipality of Bar also pointed to the need to boost the tourist potential of the city and construction of the new hotel capacities. The Mayor of Municipality informed Prime Minister Marković about the status of implementation of development projects in Bar.
Particular reference was made to the need relation to the need to improve the state of educational infrastructure state and the necessity of building a day care centre for children and youth with disabilities.
