Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović participated today in the fourth Ministerial Forum on Cultural Cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the countries of Eastern and Central Europe in Skopje.

During the gathering, attended by ministers of culture from 17 European countries and representatives of the Government of the People's Republic of China, Minister Bogdanović addressed the main panel, emphasising that Montenegro and China have had meaningful cooperation in the field of culture since 2008.

Thanks to the Silk Road and Belt programmes launched under the 17 + 1 mechanism, a large number of representatives of our institutions and organisations, experts in all fields of culture and artists of various profiles, had the opportunity to reside in China and gain valuable experience that has helped to strengthen their professional knowledge and skills. Furthermore, in the previous period we hosted numerous Chinese delegations who had the opportunity to learn about Montenegrin potential in all areas of cultural and artistic creativity and to arrange specific forms of cooperation with local artists, the Minister noted.

During the Forum, the Ministers of Culture of China and 17 European countries adopted the Skopje Declaration, which defines a framework for cooperation over the next two years. In this regard, fields of particular interest are cultural heritage, film production, creative industries and contemporary art.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Bogdanović met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, Luo Shugang, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Vladan Vukosavljević, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Zoran Poznič, and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, Husni Ismaili.
