PM Marković talks to CEO of Acibadem: Turkish leading health system is interested in stronger presence in Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (26 November 2019) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today a delegation of the Turkish private Acibadem Healthcare Group, headed by Chief Executive Officer of the company Tahsin Guney.
It was noted that Montenegro and Turkey foster quality comprehensive political and economic relations and that Montenegrin health system established developed and quality cooperation with the Acibadem. Such a cooperation, is of the greatest benefit to the citizens of our country, who as patients get the highest quality medical service at the expense of our Health Fund.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the interest of company that has 29 health centres in 18 countries to expand its business in the Montenegro as well.
"One of the political priorities of this Government is the improvement of the health system as a whole. This policy is on the basis of the overall progress. We have done a lot in this area, but I want and whish more," the Prime Minister stressed and added that in this regard, the Government was opened to a new, more intensive degree of cooperation with the Acibadem, particularly after the Law on Public – Private partnership came into force.
The CEO of the Acibadem expressed his satisfaction of the cooperation with the Montenegrin health system so far and stated that the main premise of their decision to expand business in our country is "the stability that is certain in Montenegro for a long – term period."
The Prime Minister and the CEO of Acibadem considered a number of concrete possibilities for cooperation, among others, the construction of a new general hospital or the management of one of our general hospitals and the specialised oncology clinic opening. The meeting also discussed that there is a room for improvement of Montenegrin doctors in the Acibadem Health System and the possibility for our doctors to follow the patients who continue treatment in this health system.
Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro Songul Ozan also attended the meeting.
