Ministers Nuhodžić, Hrapović in Durres: Montenegro, as friend and neighbour, expresses solidarity with Albania and willingness to help in earthquake relief

Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović paid visit to Durres today, the area of Albania that was hit by a catastrophic earthquake last night, expressing solidarity of the Government of Montenegro and a willingness to provide all kinds of assistance for earthquake relief. 

"I am here to send message, on behalf of the Government of Montenegro, together with Minister Hrapović, to the people of Albania that Montenegro, as a good neighbour and friend, is ready to show full solidarity in this situation in helping to relief its consequences," Minister Nuhodžić said to his Albanian counterpart Sander Lleshaj expressing condolences to the families of the victims. 

The Montenegrin Interior Minister recalled the devastating earthquake that struck Montenegro on 15 April 1979.

"That earthquake also confirmed the solidarity of the citizens of the former Yugoslavia and beyond. That is why today we want to show you full solidarity and the readiness of the Government of Montenegro to participate in the relief of the consequences," Minister Nuhodžić noted. 

Minister Lleshaj thanked our country for the assistance it offered. 

The competent services of Montenegro and the Republic of Albania are in contact so that our country's assistance will be sent to the earthquake affected area as soon as possible.
