Minister Janović: We support youth at risk

Podgorica, Montenegro (10 December 2019) -- Minister of Sports and Youth Nikola Janović opened earlier today a regional conference committed to the social empowerment of youth at risk. "As the youth issue is of multi - resource significance, the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Sports and Youth continuously implement numerous activities in order to boost their position, particularly of vulnerable groups. Our mission is to save youth from the possible risks and support them to have a better quality of life and to work actively on creating a better society for the future generations," Minister Janović pointed out. 

Minister Janović emphasised the importance of timely recognising the needs of different categories of youth at risk and of creating policies that will help in meeting their needs. "Youth must strengthen their skills and competencies to become a bearers of positive social changes. The Ministry continued working intensively on creating new opportunities for youth, while recognising the significance of engaging institutions at both, central and a local level. The Youth Strategy 2017 – 2021 recognised the needs of especially vulnerable categories of youth and we will continue our efforts to adequately implement all measures in the coming period, as it was the case in the previous period."
 
The Minister of Sports and Youth also stressed the significance of 10 December – Human Rights Day, which also symbolises the protection from discrimination and violence that certain youth groups are exposed. At the end, Minister Janović thanked the organiser of the conference, NGO Juventas and announced the continuation of cooperation and partnership in order to boost the position of youth at risk.
