Illegal facility demolished in Ulcinj

Published on: Dec 12, 2019 9:34 PM Author: PR Service
The illegal facility was demolished today in the Bašbuljuk olive grove in Ulcinj, two days after the appropriate solution was issued and the contractor arrested, who ignored the decisions of the competent authorities and continued the construction of the illegal facility.

Administrative enforcement of the Demolition Decision began at 13:00 and ended in approximately 30 minutes.

Inspectors of the Construction inspection of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism began the inspection of the illegally constructed facility on 11 November 2019. During the inspection, it was determined that works were being carried out on the ground floor building with a concrete slab on which the wooden structure was built, without application and appropriate documentation.

On 13 November, inspection was completed and a ban on further works was ordered.

The inspection, which was repeated on 8 December, found that in the meantime or after the ban of the continuation of works was ordered, new works were carried out on the building and on 10 December the Decision on demolition of the illegally erected building was issued.

A criminal complaint was filed against a person suspected of the criminal offense of constructing a building without an application and documentation for construction.

The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism recalls that it is a site where more than 1,000 olive trees were destroyed in a large-scale fire in 2018.

We emphasise again that construction without possession of legally prescribed documentation and construction application is a criminal offense, for which a sentence of six months to five years has been foreseen.

Considering that such construction permanently changes and destroys space and directly influences the reduction of both present and future development opportunities and causes large-scale consequences, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism will implement the law uncompromisingly, prevent illegal construction and initiate prosecution of persons who disobey the decisions of the competent authorities.
