PM Marković in Tivat: This municipality can set an example, thinking not just about hotels and resorts but also about needs of citizens

Prime Minister Duško Marković said today at the end of his working visit to Tivat that a well organised and successful municipality takes care of both spending and development and that Tivat can set an example for other local governments.
“Today I paid visit to a well-organised municipality that takes care not only of development but also of consumption, a municipality that has its financial and development potential. Congratulations to the President of the Municipality and his team. … Tivat is not only about new hotels, new resorts, the transport infrastructure that accompanies them, but is also about developments that affect every citizen and their overall needs. Congratulations on that," the Prime Minister said at the end of his working visit.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro told the journalists that he had met with President of the Municipality Siniša Kusovac, President of the Municipal Assembly Ivan Novosel and their associates to analyze what the Tivat municipality had done in the last three years in the mandate of this government, and that they discussed joint plans for the future in order to continue such dynamic and good development of transport, social and communal infrastructure.
The Prime Minister and the President of the Municipality symbolically marked the beginning of the construction of the roundabout at the entrance to the city, visited the restored cultural institutions, the almost completed Day Care Center for Children with Disabilities in Seljanovo and the newly constructed road from Solila to the intersection for Pržno.
Mr. Kusovac told the journalists at the end of the visit that he had briefed the Prime Minister on all the projects, and that the local leadership had received support for further activities.
The Prime Minister, answering a question from a journalist of the daily Vijesti on the proposed law on freedom of religion or belief and the legal position of religious communities, said that manipulations calculated to block further democratisation of Montenegro had appeared and stressed that the Government was determined to fulfill its commitment assumed following the independence and prescribed by the Constitution.
Responding to a question from a journalist of the Television of Montenegro whether the meeting discussed the forthcoming valorisation of the Airport of Montenegro, the Prime Minister said that this issue had been discussed.
"This is a development project with great potential, not only for Montenegrin tourism, but for the entire Montenegrin economy, a project that, if successful, will provide unprecedented benefits for the growth of our economy, new jobs and, of course, new revenues. The Municipality of Tivat will naturally benefit the most. I assured them that there is no risk with this investment, not only in terms of development and infrastructure improvement, but also in terms of existing jobs. With the new significant infrastructure, the number of jobs will increase and there will be additional services that will be needed for such an investment and, of course, new revenues for the municipal budget from the concession, which will significantly support local finances and further realisation of such demanding investments in social infrastructure. There is no dilemma that with this investment Tivat will have one of the best economic offers in the territory of Montenegro and that it is great opportunity for the citizens of Tivat and all those who live here," Prime Minister Duško Marković said.
