PM Marković hosts Greek Ambassador: Relations are excellent, one of Greece's foreign policy priorities is integration of Montenegro and Western Balkan countries to EU
Podgorica, Montenegro (17 December 2019) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today the inaugural visit by Ambassador of the Republic of Greece Panagiotis Parcos.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on taking up his office, wished him a successful mission to Montenegro and thanked for the Greece assistance provided to our country during its integration into NATO and for its support in our process of accession to the European Union.
"As a NATO member, we have shown the ability to take full responsibility. Although a small country with modest potential, we are in every place where world peace and order are protected," Prime Minister Duško Marković stated.
Speaking about our continuation of the European integration, the Prime Minister said that Montenegro understands the differences existing within the European Union, regarding the further dynamics of enlargement, but also added that regardless of this fact, our country continues its commitment on reforms aimed at further progress in adopting the European system of values and achievement of the European quality of life of our citizens.
"Montenegro wants to be part of the European Union when the conditions are met," Prime Minister Marković stressed.
Ambassador Parcos emphasized that one of the Greek foreign policy priorities is the European future of Montenegro and other Western Balkan countries and in that sense pointed out his country's full support for the continuation of our European integration.
The meeting assessed political relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Greece as excellent and both sides see room for deepening of economic cooperation.
