Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic today met with Non-Resident Ambassador of Israel to Montenegro Arthur Koll.
Ambassador Koll welcomed the good relations between the two countries and emphasized the great potential for bilateral cooperation in the future. In particular, he underlined the successful working relationship with different government departments and the two countries excellent and mutually beneficial cooperation within multilateral organizations. The Israeli Ambassador informed his host of tomorrows celebration of the 60th anniversary of Israels foundation, which will be commemorated in independent Montenegro for the first time. He voiced hope that the increasingly positive investment climate in Montenegro would encourage Israeli investors to invest in Montenegro, which was a common ambition of the Israeli Embassy and Montenegros Honorary Consul in Israel.
Prime Minister Djukanovic thanked the Ambassador for the prompt and friendly response of the Israeli Government to major democratic developments in Montenegros recent past. Having wished the Ambassador a happy national holiday, the Prime Minister welcomed the first celebration of the day in Montenegros capital. He informed his guest of the Governments continued efforts towards strategic national goals, i.e. membership of European and Euro-Atlantic structures. The Prime Minister introduced Ambassador Koll to priority investment projects planned by the end of next year.
Both sides agreed that Montenegros stability and legal and security reforms were among main requirements for encouraging Israeli investors to invest in Montenegro. By the same token, a presentation of investment projects was agreed to take place in Montenegro, in cooperation between the Israeli Embassy, Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Israel and Montenegrin Foreign Ministry. Concrete options for the implementation of projects of common interest were also considered, particularly in the areas of water resources, agriculture, telecommunications, information technology, infrastructure and tourism.
