Nikšić, Montenegro (7 February 2020) -- This year the Government allocated more than EUR one million for the construction of rural water supply systems throughout Montenegro, which continues to boost the living conditions of rural residents and the conditions for further development of agriculture and entrepreneurship in rural areas.

"The construction of 33 water supply systems was planned, of which 21 are in the northern and 12 in the central region. The construction of 52 km of water supply network - 35km primary and 17km secondary, will solve water supply for about 3,000 households," the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović, who presented the Programme for encouraging projects in water management for 2019 in the Prijespa village in Nikšić, noted earlier today.

"When we add to this 36 water supplies built in the last three years in rural areas, we will have about 360 km of water supply network - or about 240 km of primary and 120 km of secondary network, for which the Government allocated EUR 4 million," Deputy Prime Minister Simovic stated, presenting results in this area from 2017-2020.
