DPM Simović in Danilovgrad: Employment increased by over 12%, investments in agriculture amount to EUR 14 million

Danilovgrad, Montenegro (17 February 2020) – At the end of his working visit to the Municipality of Danilovgrad, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System and Minister of Agriculuture and Rural Development Milutin Simović met with the municipality leadership.
DPM Simović stressed that investments worth over EUR 75 million are currently being implemented or will be soon implemented in Danilovgrad, which will contribute to even faster development, job creation and higher living standards.
The exceptional investment momentum is the result of ambitious development plans, both at the national and local level, dynamic economic growth, improvement of the business environment and valuable investors and entrepreneurs.
Investment momentum in achieving encouraging results here in Danilovgrad, as well as in other parts of Montenegro, is the result of responsible local self-government and the Government of Montenegro, which in the past three years has undertaken numerous economic policy measures that have yielded concrete and encouraging results, DPM Simović said.
Particularly important is that the unemployment rate has decreased from 20.45% (1.1.2017) and is around 11% today, which is lower than the national average (15%). At the same time, employment in Danilovgrad has increased by over 12%, Simović said.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that investments in agriculture amount to EUR 14 million.
