Podgorica, Montenegro (19 February 2020) – Prime Minister Duško Marković and members of the Government had a dialogue within the Alliance for Europe with representatives of the Civic Alliance, led by Programme Director Boris Raonić, during which they openly discussed the challenges on the path of European integration and strengthening the rule of law.
Representatives of the Civic Alliance made several constructive proposals aimed at strengthening administrative capacity and potential, stressing the need to strengthen institutions that should address the rule of law issues more effectively.
Representatives of this NGO also stressed the need to improve the accountability principle at the level of institutions, both of public administration and the judiciary, which would contribute to better protection of the interests and needs of all citizens.
The issues relevant to the European integration process and overall social development have been extensively discussed. The Government will carefully consider all the proposals and suggestions received and adopt an approach.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for the Political System, Internal and Foreign Policy Zoran Pažin, Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović and Chief Negotiator with European Union Aleksandar Drljević.
