Press release from 158th Cabinet session

Podgorica, Montenegro (20 February 2020) – At its 158th session, chaired by Prime Minister Duško Marković, the Montenegrin Cabinet adopted the Draft Law amending the Law on Central Population Register. The proposed amendments create conditions for access to administrative data sources, which is a basis for making better results of official statistics, as well as the compliance with the substantive regulations of Montenegro, it was highlighted at discussion. 

The Montenegrin Cabinet adopted a Regulation on the method of determining the identification number. A regulation regulates the method of determining the identification number of individuals who signs on his or her own behalf or on behalf of individual or legal entity, using data to produce an electronic signature, based on a qualified electronic signature certificate. At the same time, the application of this regulation will protect the unique identification number of the person, regarding the identification number does not contain the personal data of the certificate holder for the qualified electronic signature i.e. itself does not reveal any information about him.

The Montenegrin Cabinet adopted a Decree amending a Decree on the colour and marking of vehicles and vessels, weapons and special equipment used for police activities, which, among other things, stipulates that certain equipment of police officers should be affixed with a combination of letters and / or numbers, in order to serve the identification of the police officer. This provides the identity of a police officer to be identified, even when he has protective equipment.
