London, United Kingdom (24 February 2020) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković is in London, where the 4th Western Balkans Investment Summit, hosted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), begins today.
The regional Investment Summit will begin with a plenary session, where EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti and Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković as Prime Minister of the state holding the EU Council Presidency, will address the participants.
The EBRD is an important partner for the governments of the Western Balkans Six (WB6) in the process of transition and one of the largest single institutional investors in the region, in which the EBRD has invested nearly EUR 12 billion, since the early nineties.
The four-year EBRD Strategy for Montenegro, adopted on 3 May 2017, focuses the Bank's activities towards boosting the competitiveness of the private sector, supporting sustainable practices in the tourism and real estate sectors and promoting energy security and efficiency at the regional level.
In addition to Prime Minister Marković, Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, Prime Minister of North Macedonia Oliver Spasovski and Chairman of the Council of Ministers in Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija, will take participation in the Summit.
Prime Minister Duško Marković will also talk to US Special Representative of the State Department for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer.
