Alliance for Europe Initiative: PM Marković meets with representatives of European Movement and Human Rights Action

Prime Minister Duško Marković spoke today, within the Alliance for Europe Initiative, with representatives of the European Movement in Montenegro and the Human Rights Action (HRA) on a number of issues important for progress on the European integration path."The talks we have under the Alliance for Europe Initiative are constructive and encouraging. I believe that together we will come up with better solutions in the areas important for the EU integration process, as well as for strengthening the social and political environment," PM Marković said.
The meeting with President of the European Movement in Montenegro Momčilo Radulović discussed issues related to the new model of negotiation with the EU, the rule of law with a particular focus on the fight against corruption, as well as cooperation between civil society and the Government. Particular focus has been put on proposals to strengthen human resources and improve youth policies.
The meeting with Executive Director of the Human Rights Action Tea Gorjanc Prelević and her associates discussed in detail topics related to international standards in the field of human rights. Furthermore, opinions were exchanged on certain legal solutions in the field of justice, strengthening of independence and accountability in the judiciary, improvement of the work environment of media, and activities in the field of transitional justice as well as the rights of mentally ill persons. Other issues relevant to the rule of law were also discussed at the meeting.
The Government of Montenegro will consider the proposals received and adopt an approach.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Internal and Foreign Policy Zoran Pažin, Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović and Chief Negotiator with European Union Aleksandar Drljević.
