"By establishing a regional hub in Bijelo Polje, we want to strategically, infrastructurally, administratively and programmatically strengthen and affirm the development of creative and cultural industries in the northern part of our country," said Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović at a press conference following today's Cabinet session.

The Cabinet adopted today the Information on activities for establishing a creative hub in Bijelo Polje.

Minister Bogdanović emphasised that the Government has once again shown a commitment to the realisation of public policies aimed at valorising our generous creative potential, with particular attention to the north of Montenegro. He explained that the Information on activities for establishing a regional creative hub in Bijelo Polje was adopted in order to create the conditions for realisation of the first phase of the project.

That phase, he stressed, is related to the implementation of the International open competition for the development of the preliminary urban and architectural solution for the adaptation of the former military complex Cerovo in order to establish a hub, as well as the development of a sustainability study with the proposal of its management and financing model.

The Cultural Development Program 2016-2020, as a strategic document of the Ministry of Culture, he recalled, recognised the creative industries as one of the areas that should contribute to the valorisation of the creative and cultural potential we have.
