Published on: Feb 28, 2020 3:15 PM Author: PR Service
Prime Minister Duško Marković began his official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria this morning, where he arrived last night at the invitation of President of the Council of Ministers Boyko Borissov.

The reception with the highest state honors was held in front of the Council of Ministers headquarters, followed by official talks between the two delegations and meetings of the Prime Minister of Montenegro with Bulgarian senior officials.

The visit of the Prime Minister of Montenegro to the Republic of Bulgaria is an opportunity to deepen the cooperation of the two friendly states and NATO allies.

Bulgaria, which strongly supported Montenegro's accession to NATO, has the same stance on the EU enlargement policy, that is, our accession process. Therefore, the topics discussed by Prime Minister Duško Marković with Bulgarian top officials will be the continuation of integration and reform processes and the expectations and ambitions of Montenegro in the further stages of European integration.

An exchange of views is expected on the European perspective of the Western Balkans ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Zagreb in May, as well as on other issues of regional and wider importance. The visit will be an opportunity to highlight our good neighbourly policy and Montenegro's commitment to regional cooperation and all forms of regional integration that are complementary to our European path.

The topics of PM Marković's meetings will be the intensification of cooperation in the fields of defence, energy, tourism, agriculture, infrastructure and transport, culture and health, as well as establishing cooperation in the field of sport and youth.
