PM Marković meets with Dnevne Novine management: I expect these meetings to result in measures that contribute to better position of media

Prime Minister Duško Marković spoke with the management of Dnevne Novine within the Alliance for Europe Initiative.

The meeting discussed the improvement of the media scene in the context of new media legislation and the sustainability of the media with full respect for the principles of media pluralism, freedom of expression and the independence of regulation and self-regulation.

The Prime Minister said that after talks with all media outlets he expects a cross-section of concerted measures and activities that would contribute to a better position of the media.

At the meeting, Government representatives received specific proposals and suggestions that could be implemented through Government policies.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Zoran Pažin, Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović, Executive Director of Dnevne Novine Nenad Amidžić, editor-in-chief Vesna Šofranac and deputy editor-in-chief Goran Popović.
