Podgorica, Montenegro (4 March 2020) -- The national public broadcaster should not compete with the commercial media, but provide a high-quality programme, which is a standard and a need in line with the public interest, Prime Minister Duško Marković and the management of the national public broadcaster Radio and Television of Montenegro noted earlier today at the meeting held within the Alliance for Europe Initiative.
The national public broadcaster has no competition. In our approach and our legal solutions, we should free you of those things that push you into competitive behavior, but you have to provide quality, the Prime Minister pointed out.
The Prime Minister informed the RTCG management about the reasons of launching the Alliance for Europe Initiative and assessed the talks held so far as successful.
The meeting was attended by President and Vice-President of the RTCG Council Ivan Jovetić and Nikola Tatar, RTCG Director General Božidar Šundić, Directors of the Radio and Television of Montenegro Budimir Raičević and Slavko Đurđić, editor-in-chief of the RTCG web portal Ilija Šuković, Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanović and Chief Negotiator with European Union Aleksandar Drljević.
