National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases team talks to locals of Lijeva Rijeka

Members of the National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases met and spoke earlier today with the locals of Lijeva Rijeka, where one of the camps intended for workers of the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) returning from China is located. 

The visit was organised to provide the locals and local workers involved in the construction of the motorway, who voiced their concern in relation to the return of Chinese nationals, with information about return procedures, conditions and the manner of how to organise the stay of employees in camps, i.e. the preventive measures of the CRBC Company implements with the recommendations of the Institute of Public Health, in the field. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport, CRBC, Supervision and Monteput.

Director of the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Dr. Božidarka Rakočević, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases Dr. Sanja Medenica, Specialist in Epidemiology Dr. Igor Galić , as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health Dr. Miro Knežević and Chief Health and Sanitary Inspector Višnja Orban informed representatives of locals and local communities of Lijeva Rijeka on the current epidemiological situation at the national level and the measures implemented by the institutions of the Montenegrin health system since the coronavirus broke out, but also answered specific questions regarding the arrival of Chinese nationals.

As it was recalled at the beginning of the meeting, CRBC terminated its employment with employees coming from China's Hubei region, which detected the largest number of people being infected with virus. The tougher measures now being implemented in the camps are part of the recommendations of the Institute of Public Health, so the obligation of the company is to provide the dynamics of the return of employees, before returning to Montenegro the employees must be isolated in their country for 14 days, before the trip they must carry out the necessary medical examinations and submit adequate evidence of medical condition and performed medical examinations. The measure of additional supervision over a 14-day period, which is part of the procedures and recommendations, continues upon arrival in Montenegro.
