Podgorica, Montenegro (19 March 2020) -- The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases and the highest representatives of the judiciary agreed earlier today that in order to protect citizens and the entire society from the continued spread of coronavirus, the strictest sanctions laid down by the law, should be continually applied to all individuals and legal persons who violate the orders of the Ministry of Health, especially to individuals who do not comply with self-isolation decisions.
At a meeting held shortly before today's Cabinet session, President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesna Medenica and Supreme State Prosecutor Ivica Stanković fully supported all activities of the National Coordination Body and voiced their full agreement with the orders and measures. The National Coordination Body has been informed of the absolute readiness of the judiciary, in close cooperation with other state entities, to continuously act on its jurisdiction, in order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus.
It was noted that since the irresponsible disrespect for the decisions on self-isolation is particular threat to the citizens and the whole society, every detected case will be processed with the strictest penalties provided, as soon as possible.
