National Coordination Body and UN System in Montenegro form working groups to absorb UN assistance in our country's fight against coronavirus

National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases and the United Nations System in Montenegro formed today working groups to prepare as soon as possible a plan of activities to absorb United Nations assistance to Montenegro in the fight against the spread and the consequences of coronavirus – President of the National Coordination Body Milutin Simović and UN Resident Coordinator to Montenegro Fiona McCluney agreed today.

Key state institutions and the UN System in Montenegro will work intensively in the coming days to address urgent issues and make swift decisions with short implementation deadlines in the fight against coronavirus - it was agreed today.

The United Nations praised the measures taken by the Government to combat the spread of coronavirus, asserting that the UN System supports Montenegro's systematic response and plans, which at the same time takes into account human rights and the most vulnerable populations.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Administration, Clinical Centre of Montenegro, Institute for Public Health and Police Directorate.
