Minister of Science of Montenegro Sanja Damjanović will take part in a dialogue of science ministers entitled "COVID-19 and Open Science," organised by UNESCO. The dialogue will take form of a Skype conference on Monday, 30 March 2020.
Recognising the need and importance of the knowledge exchange, as a prerequisite for "open science for all," while contributing to the advancement of scientific technology and innovation, UNESCO organises this ministerial dialogue on the pandemic of the novel coronavirus and aims to establish a platform for dialogue, exchange of experience in the field of tackling the COVID- 19, and the general responses of science to the current global situation.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has shown a unique and productive global coalition of scientists working together, sharing scientific and epidemiological data and information. It is precisely the COVID-19 crisis that solidified the role of science, as a driver for evidence-based decision making.
With globalisation and the connected world, "Open Science" will be a key link for bringing together scientific, research and innovation communities around the world and strengthening the relationship between science and society. Worldwide, researchers and technology developers, engineers, academia, innovators from the private and public sectors are applying the concept of the open science to make science as accessible as possible.
