Podgorica, Montenegro (1 April 2020) -- At today's session, the National Coordination Body (NCB) paid particular attention to monitoring the implementation of the measures from the orders issued by the Ministry of Health, at the proposal of the Institute for Public Health, while taking into account the recommendations of the NCB. On this occasion, the National Coordination Body expressed its full support for the proceedings of the competent authorities so far, especially of the Police Directorate in sanctioning all individuals, who did not comply with the prescribed measures.
The NCB voiced its expectation that the observance of all measures will be consistently monitored in the forthcoming period, all with the aim of protecting the health and life of citizens.
At today's session, the NCB was informed about Decision on the manner and conditions for allocating funds raised through donations to mitigate and combat consequences of the COVID -19 epidemic, which the Montenegrin Cabinet passed yesterday.
The meeting was also attended by Head of the Operational Staff for managing donations Radule Raonić, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Economic Policy, who informed the NCB about amount of EUR 5.923.032.24 and $ 4.000 at the bank account. In line with the Decision, the Operational Staff will publish an information on the account balance and payments from the account, on the web portal of the Government of Montenegro and the specialised portal www.coronainfocg.me, once a week.
The NCB recalls that due to the high epidemiological risk, the consent of the Operational Staff of the NCB is required to organise the home delivery of foodstuffs and medicines and that this measure was introduced to protect the health of all citizens, including those participating in the action and those to whom the delivery is made.
They will consistently insist on the implementation of this measure, because no other goal can and will be more valuable than protecting the health and life of citizens.
Expressing full support for the activities of the Red Cross of Montenegro, the NCB calls on this organization to coordinate its operations with the NCB Operational Staff, in order to comply with all epidemiological measures. The expectation was expressed that the Red Cross of Montenegro will direct special attention towards the elderly population, to whom the assistance is the most needed and the most important, at this moment.
