The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases, at today's session chaired by President Milutin Simović, analyzed the epidemiological situation in Montenegro and assessed that all state authorities in the past period timely and effectively undertook all planned activities to protect the health and lives of citizens from the coronavirus epidemic, and that the measures taken so far are largely respected. In this respect, the National Coordination Body expressed its gratitude to the citizens for their understanding of the gravity of the situation and their responsible behaviour and once again strongly urged all competent institutions to strictly sanction any violation of measures.

The National Coordination Body noted with concern that some catering facilities were allowing citizens to buy beverages in portable packaging and to gather in a wider area of facilities, which is an example of violation of order adopted on 15 March. Reminding that such actions pose a risk to the health and lives of citizens, the National Coordination Body warns that the Criminal Code of Montenegro prescribes that "anyone who during an epidemic of a dangerous contagious disease fails to act according to regulations, decisions or orders shall be punished by a fine or imprisonment for a maximum term not exceeding one year", and if anyone seriously impairs the health of another person shall be punished by an imprisonment sentence of one to eight years, and in the case of death of up to twelve years.

It was also noted that some business entities, first of all companies that perform construction work, transport employees without respecting the compulsory social distance. These business entities, with an understanding of their efforts to maintain business in difficult epidemiological circumstances, are suggested to adapt staff transportation and work organisation to the orders and recommendations.

The National Coordination Body discussed the Report on donations made from account opening, 19 March to 6 April at 9 a.m.

On this occasion, the National Coordination Body thanked the citizens of Montenegro, local business entities, foreign investors and the diaspora for their high level of social responsibility and solidarity.

Furthermore, the session noted that payments in the reporting period amounted to EUR 6,738,838.93 and US $ 56,000.00, and outflow from the account amounted to EUR 978,406.59. It was also noted that the spending structure of each euro was made public.

In accordance with the Decision of the Government of Montenegro, the balance of the National Communication Body's account with all inflows and outflows will be updated every Monday on the website of the Government and the special website www.coronainfocg.me.

The National Coordination Body was informed about the decision of all three mobile phone operators to open a special number 15888 at the initiative of the citizens, with the consent of the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services. One euro will be paid to the account of the Red Cross of Montenegro by sending each SMS message with the content "DONACIJA". The meeting expressed the expectation that the operators and the Red Cross would also provide full insight into donations.
