The Government's economic team presented today to the social partners the support measures that Prime Minister Duško Marković presented yesterday to the public, aimed at supporting employees, the economy and vulnerable social groups.
The objectives of the proposed measures are to preserve jobs and create the preconditions for the rapid recovery of the economy and standard of living of all citizens and their families during and after the coronavirus pandemic, as well as to help those in need – said Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System Milutin Simović.
The meeting assessed that the measures are aimed at those who need support the most. The measures represent the beginning of comprehensive socio-economic measures that will be extended in order to help our economy to come out of this crisis with minimal consequences and continue its growth and development. The proposal for a package of measures, which was presented to the public yesterday and today explained in detail to business and trade union representatives, includes support for more than 100,000 employees and thousands of entrepreneurs, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The suggestions of trade union representatives and employers have been considered with particular care, in order to adjust the expressed expectations and opportunities when creating the final proposal of measures. Today's meeting is the first in a round of consultations to be held before the adoption of the final package of measures.
The meeting was attended by President of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro Vlastimir Golubović, President of the Union of Employers of Montenegro Predrag Mitrović, Secretary-General of the Union of Free Trade Unions Srđa Keković, Secretary-General of the Union of Trade Unions of Montenegro Duško Zarubica, Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić, Minister of Finance Darko Radunović and Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Kemal Purišić.
