Government passes several decisions without holding session: Sports facilities in Podgorica, Golubovci, Berane and Bar are set up for temporary hospitals

Podgorica, Montenegro (14 April 2020) -- The Montenegrin Cabinet, without holding a session and based on the obtained consent of the majority of the Cabinet members, passed several decisions on carrying out the treatment of persons affected with contagious disease COVID-19 in facilities in Podgorica, Golubovci, Bar and Berane.

It was decided to set up the "Bemax Arena," the Great Hall of "Morača" Sports Centre in Podgorica, the Sports Hall of the "Golubovci Mixed Secondary School", the "Topolica" Sports Hall in Bar and the Sports Hall in Berane for temporary hospitals.

The facilities listed are ceded for the use free of charge.

The Property Administration is obliged, in line with the regulations, to equip the temporary hospitals on an urgent basis with the equipment necessary for their work and the Armed Forces of Montenegro to provide continuous protection for 24 hours in and around the facilities.

The Cabinet has passed a Decision on manner for exercising the right of exemption from VAT and customs duties on medical devices and protective equipment that are imported as donation, aimed at combating consequences of the COVID – 19 epidemic.
