Vulević: If necessary, the Armed Forces will be engaged more extensively

“If necessary, The Armed Forces of Montenegro will be engaged more extensively in order to help citizens and the state in battling Coronavirus”, the representative for CBRN Defence in the Armed Forces, captain Branimir Vulević said.

He emphasized that 174 soldiers from almost all units secure quarantines all over our country.

“Even if members of the Armed Forces meet the possible contagion by Coronavirus on daily basis, we implement all measures for their protection. All engaged persons wear the proscribed protection equipment, from medical masks to isolation suits”, Vulević explained during his interview for the morning show of the Radio Television of Montenegro. 
 
As he said, the Armed Forces is there to meet every real request of our citizens in quarantines, and so far, there was no situation which could not be solved by conversation.

Vulević emphasized that the Armed Forces of Montenegro had provided the protection equipment for our citizens who came back to Montenegro, as well as for pilots and drivers who had transported them.

“The CBRN Defence Service is also engaged, and three stationary stations for decontamination were formed in Danilovgrad, Bar and Igalo. More than 250 means of transport, including airplanes, have passed through them until now”, Vulević said.

The representative of CBRN Defence in the Armed Forces of Montenegro pointed out the particular significance of mobile teams for decontamination that were engaged in Danilovgrad, Podgorica and Tuzi, and that will perform tasks in Andrijevica and Berane today.

“By the end of this week they will perform their tasks in the coastal region, in Herceg Novi, Tivat, Bar, Budva and Ulcinj”, Vulević explained.

He also mentioned the return of the XI contingent from the mission “Resolute Support” in Afghanistan, emphasizing that they were placed in quarantine in the barracks “Milovan Šaranović” in Danilovgrad out of precaution, even if none of them shows symptoms of the Coronavirus.

Vulević reminded that employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces, according to their possibilities, renounced a part of their salary, which resulted in collecting about EUR 59 000 for help in battling the Coronavirus
.
“I invite you all to, whenever it’s possible, stay home and follow measures proscribed by the competent authorities”, he said.
