The Armed Forces of Montenegro ready to provide help to citizens in battling Coronavirus

Minister of Defence Predrag Bošković, with Chief of Defence, Brigadier General Dragutin Dakić, and Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović, visited the barracks “Milovan ŠaranoviĆ” in Danilovgrad, where mini hospital and quarantine were formed.
“The Armed Forces of Montenegro is ready to contribute to mitigation of consequences in this emergency situation, on every request of the Government and all line ministries. Citizens can rely on the Armed Forces which is at service for the needs of the health system of Montenegro in its full capacities”, minister Bošković stated.
On that occasion, CBRN Defence Infantry Battalion Platoon demonstrated the procedure of decontamination and disinfection of vehicles and drivers that transported employees of the Ministry of Defense and members of the Armed Forces from abroad. The procedure of decontamination of rooms and roads was also demonstrated, as well as capacities of a field hospital, where patients suspected of carrying Coronavirus (Covid 19) are being admitted and treated.
Within the barracks, two quarantines are prepared, for 59 and 26 persons. There are rooms for medical staff, ambulance and isolation room. In addition, multifunctional helicopter Bell 412 EPI is at disposal for citizens and not only for members of the Armed Forces.
“Today, for the first time, we could see the possibilities of helicopter unit of the Armed Forces, that is able to carry out medical evacuation in its full capacity, by respecting all procedures for maintaining patients in life and by completely protecting medical staff accompanying such patients”, minister Bošković stated.
Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović pointed out the fact that all capacities of the Armed Forces are were essential for the entire society, and also stated that they help us become the unique health system.
“I have to highlight dedication and engagement of members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, its medical and expert staff, as well as all the others, to responding to tasks in every moment. We also have the helicopter with modern medical equipment, which is extremely important.”
Six members of the Armed Forces who arrived from Slovenia, passed all procedures which were demonstrated last night.
They are treated in accordance with standards and procedures proscribed by the Public Health Institute, and they are in quarantine. Their general health is good”, minister Hrapović concluded.
