Medical capacities of helicopter squadron of the AF of Montenegro were presented to the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Predrag Bošković, and the Director of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, Jevto Eraković, at the heliport of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro. Helicopters of the AF of Montenegro and the intensive unit are equipped in line with the up to date standards, and made available to citizens and needs of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro.

President Đukanović said that it represented an excellent example of high quality cooperation between the Ministry of Defence, the AF and the Clinical Centre as the umbrella institution of the health system.

“I’m glad that in this way we confirmed that Montenegro is the country of permanently growing capacities, which are focused on providing security to citizens. This is the opportunity to, with respect for all that the Clinical Centre had done, emphasise once more the huge role that the AF played during this crisis situation”, president Đukanović stated. During his visit to the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, he addressed the soldiers who were securing that institution.

“We recall that around 200 people are constantly involved in securing health facilities and quarantines”, President pointed out.

’’Today, we can testify that the Armed Forces was, and still is an important factor of good results that Montenegro has achieved so far’’, President Đukanović stated.

Minister of Defence, Predrag Bošković, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present to the public all that the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the AF of Montenegro are doing, which is the significant investment for the AF, as well as for the entire health system of our country.

“The price of the medical equipment for the helicopter unit was EUR 290 000. Now we have the best possible service for victims of accidents in the region. We are particularly proud of the fact that we had realized this activity in short term, and I must say that that is the right example of a high quality cooperation between two institutions of Montenegro”, Minister Bošković stated and he added that the AF rightfully acquired the title of maybe the most trusted institution in Montenegro, which is proved by the surveys.

“The entire Ministry of Defence is grateful to the President of Montenegro, Government headed by the Prime Minister, for the understanding that in the previous period we invested significant means in building up, modernization and equipping of the AF, so it could respond to the third mission which is the most important today when we meet this kind of crisis”, Minister Bošković pointed out. He thanked to members of the AF for their selfless effort that they are making on a daily basis, and he emphasized that this was not the end of the battle and that we had to persist altogether, without relaxation, in order to confirm good results provided by the institutions.

Director of the Clinical Centre, Jevto Eraković, said that the new equipment provided by the AF, makes the health system stronger, more successful and efficient.

“It is an intensive unit within the helicopter Bell, which enables our intervention team, anaesthesiologists and anaesthetists to provide adequate professional protection and treatment to all citizens of Montenegro anytime and anywhere.”, Eraković said and thanked on behalf of all health care professionals for the contribution of the Ministry of Defence and the AF.

Eraković, as well as the President of Montenegro, emphasized that it was not time for relaxation, because the battle against Coronavirus was not finished yet. On that occasion, Đukanović announced the new development project that would be launched as soon as the relevant conditions are provided. Namely, it’s about building of the Clinic for infectious diseases and dermatovenerology within the Clinical Centre, for which the main project was completed and financial construction almost rounded up.
