PM Marković at PMQs: Taking care of vulnerable categories of society is constantly topical and priority issue for Government, not just during pandemic

Prime Minister Duško Marković noted at the Prime Minister's Questions that the care for vulnerable categories of our society has always been a topical issue and is a high priority of this Government, not just now when we are facing a global problem – the pandemic of coronavirus.
Responding to a question from Raško Konjević MP from the Social Democratic Party of Montenegro, the PM outlined what the Government's economic packages include:
The first package of measures also included delay in payment of loans to support the most vulnerable and at their request, so 64.1 thousand individuals and 3.8 thousand legal entities used this opportunity and banks stopped recovering EUR 1.3 billion of their claims.
The Prime Minister emphasised that one-time assistance was provided, through the implementation of the first set of Government's measures, in the amount of EUR 1.03 million for a total of 20,605 beneficiaries, of which 8,593 families were beneficiaries of material support and 12,012 beneficiaries were with the lowest pension.
"The second set of measures in the field of social benefits envisages the financial support for 16,000 citizens, worth around EUR 800,000. Within this package, subsidies cover electricity consumers in a state of social need, 20,000 of them, to whom the subsidy is doubled," said the Prime Minister.
Responding to MP Konjević on his comparison of measures in Montenegro and in Croatia, the Prime Minister said that in Croatia, the moratorium is not obligatory and that banks in Montenegro are obliged to have a moratorium on all beneficiaries of loans who require it.
"Consequently, as a percentage, a moratorium of about 10% of clients has been approved in Croatia so far, while based on the latest available data in Montenegro, a moratorium covers 52% of clients," the Prime Minister pointed out.
