In order to mitigate the effects of the COVID 19 epidemic, the Government, at its session of 24 April 2020, decided, through the Special Support Programme to Agriculture and Fisheries, to pay additional old-age pension of EUR 64.41 to 3,419 beneficiaries. The total amount of benefits is EUR 440,000.

Of the total number of users, 72.5% are from the north of Montenegro, while 16.1% are from the central and 11.4% from the south.

Taking special care of our oldest population, all beneficiaries will be given two protective masks, in order to preserve the health of this vulnerable population.

In order to maintain and improve the quality of life in the countryside, in 2002 the Government introduced old-age pensions for holders of agricultural land in rural areas whose only occupation was agriculture and could not exercise their right to a pension or other type of benefit.
