Another EUR 7.66 million is allocated to modernise transport infrastructure of Bijelo Polje

Podgorica, Montenegro (6 May 2020) -- New projects for modernisation of transport infrastructure are about to begin in the area of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, for which the Public Works Administration signed agreements in the total value of nearly EUR 7.66 million. 

Funds for the implementation of these projects were allocated from the Capital Budget by the Government of Montenegro, as investment in the development of the northern region and improving the quality of life for citizens are among the top priorities.

The reconstruction of the Gubavač - Bistrica road and the construction of a bridge on the Bistrica river have been agreed, in the amount of EUR 5 million, aimed at valorising the tourist potentials of Đalovića cave with its surroundings. It is a section of nine kilometres, linking the main road Podgorica - Bijelo Polje with a new access road from Bistrica to the monastery Podvrh, where the starting station of the cable car to Đalovića cave is located. The job was assigned to the Podgorica – based company "Crnagoraput", in the public procurement procedure, with a deadline of completion of works within 365 days from the introduction to the work.

Rožaje – based company "Tofi" was the most favorable bidder for reconstruction of 4.5 km of the road Srđevac - Lozna - Sipanje, in a value of more than EUR 2.46 million. The project also included raising of more than a kilometre of gabion and concrete retaining walls. The contractor is obliged to complete the work within 225 days of its introduction into the construction site.

Consortium "Konstruktor" Bijelo Polje was assigned the job of remediation the landslide Latinska kosa on the road Ravna Rijeka - Jasikovac, in the amount of nearly EUR 193.000. The landslide is located on the road to the mountain centre of Cmiljača and represents one component of the demanding construction of the access road. The deadline for completion of the work is 70 days from the introduction to the work.
