National Coordination Body seeks urgent action by Prosecutor's Office, Nikšić at epidemiological risk

Published on: May 13, 2020 3:14 AM Author: PR Service
Tonight, the joint efforts and the achieved results of all institutions and citizens in preserving health and lives were rudely tried to be destroyed by an illegal public gathering in Nikšić.

The National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases calls on the State Prosecutor's Office and the Supreme State Prosecutor to urgently take legal measures within their competence, without any delay or hesitation, and to prosecute the organisers of the illegal and highly epidemiologically risky public gathering.

While the majority of citizens responsibly respect all measures, the organisers of the illegal public gathering in Nikšić put at the direct risk what should be most sacred to everyone - the health and lives of all citizens and the recovery of the Montenegrin economy.

The public testifies that this gross violation of the law was announced by the Democratic Front's MPs. It is also a fact that the representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church did not respect the agreement with the members of the National Coordination Body in charge of the medical and security aspect.

The development of the epidemiological situation in Nikšić will be analyzed in the coming days with special attention. Appropriate epidemiological measures will be adopted in accordance with the results to be determined.
