Teleconference CEI Summit chaired by Montenegro on Friday

An extraordinary meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) Member States will be held on Friday, 15 May, via teleconference, organised by the Government of Montenegro and the CEI Executive Secretariat, and in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for Europe.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković, will be attended by the Prime Ministers of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Moldova, North Macedonia and Ukraine, as well as other senior officials from CEI Member States. Special guests will be EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, WHO Director for Europe Hans Kluge and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti.
The Summit will discuss the economic and social consequences of the novel coronavirus pandemic and exchange views on possible measures to mitigate them.
The Heads of Government of the CEI Member States will adopt a Joint Statement emphasising the importance of solidarity and the region's commitment to a unified view of the consequences of the pandemic and joint action.
A press release will be published following the meeting.
