Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany Marco Wanderwitz agreed at the meeting in Poznan to strengthen the strategic and operational police cooperation of the two ministries in order to tackle global security challenges.
It was noted that Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro has achieved significant results in the fight against organised crime and that Montenegro is important partner to the Federal Republic of Germany.
"Montenegro has achieved good results on its path to the EU membership, which at the same time contributes to greater safety and security not only in the Western Balkans region but also in Europe. We recognise your efforts in fight against serious and organised crime and we are ready to cooperate more intensively with the Montenegrin police," Wanderwitz pointed out.
Minister Nuhodžić pointed to the strong commitment of the Ministry of the Interior and other authorities to implementation of the laws in the fight against illegal migrations, crime and terrorism and informed Mr. Wanderwitz about concrete activities that Ministry of the Interior implements in this area.
"We are pleased that our German partners recognised our efforts and professional work of the Ministry of the Interior and the Police Directorate of Montenegro. As the next EU member, Montenegro has already proven itself as a reliable and responsible partner. Meetings like this one are useful in order to closer define next forms of cooperation and to continue to adopt the latest technologies and knowledge as the most developed European countries," Minister Nuhodžić stressed.
